This is me!


I started Katie's Edge firstly to motivate myself to stay healthy. However, it has really made me realise how important to me my health is: when I feel fit and healthy I have a much more positive outlook on life, which is so vital. Like most people, I've faced some really difficult times in my life which has often made me feel negative, but now I am learning that negative feelings can be turned around and made positive and that's how you make the most out of your wonderful life. 

So, at this point in my life I'm focusing on living a lifestyle that makes me happy by surrounding myself with people I love, eating lovely healthy food and exercising regularly. What I am really enjoying about writing this blog is that it's making me explore loads of different ways to enjoy a healthy and positive lifestyle.

I've been a vegetarian since I was nine so all the recipes and food ideas are vegetarian friendly at the moment. I do believe that certain meats are really great for a healthy balanced diet so I am thinking about eating fish and possibly other meat in the future, but for now I am happy and healthy as a vegetarian.

Everything I put on this blog (all recipes, workouts and ideas) are things that I have tried myself and have worked for me - everyone is different and has different needs when it comes to health and fitness. I am not an expert, I'm just really passionate about being as healthy and happy as I possibly can to get the most out of life. I get all my information from my brother who is a rugby player and personal trainer, my friends/family and my own research using other health blogs, websites and books. I am not a complete health freak either. I think it is really important to relax and eat cake every once in a while! I just hope that this blog will not only help me but might be able to help other people who seek a healthy and happy life.
